September is perhaps the busiest month of the year although my only Knot of the autumn so far were these four juveniles feeding quite close by on the Old Spit Outflow on the 2nd. Twenty Sanderling were feeding along Gull Island on the 7th June which is quite late to be this far south and so perhaps they are non-breeders especially given their lack of breeding plumage.
