Little Grebe – Fen Drayton Lakes, Cambridgeshire

I combined a trip to see my sister in Cambridge with a catch up and sketching trip with Richard Johnson. We headed to Fen Drayton Lakes where a hide would give us a comfortable place to sketch and listen to the Test Match on the radio.

A group of Little Grebes swam conveniently into view providing some interesting shapes and chunks of colour. A group of birds usually mean that one of them is in view and in a convenient position most of the time.
